Generative AI Policy

This policy regulates the acceptable and unacceptable forms of using generative artificial intelligence (AI) systems by authors, reviewers, and editors in the preparation, evaluation, and processing of scholarly materials. Its purpose is to ensure academic integrity, compliance with current Ukrainian legislation, and adherence to international standards of scholarly publishing.

USE OF AI BY AUTHORS

Generative AI tools may be used by authors solely as supplementary instruments and must not replace the researcher’s intellectual contribution or generate independent scientific content.

Permitted uses

  • linguistic and stylistic editing, including translation;
  • creation of basic diagrams, simple illustrations, and technical visualisations;
  • preparation of preliminary drafts that are subsequently substantially revised by the author.

Prohibited uses

  • generating an article or its parts in a way that substitutes for the author’s work;
  • using fabricated or synthetically generated data, references, or sources;
  • concealing the involvement of AI in the creation of any part of the material.

Any use of AI must be disclosed in the main text or in the appropriate sections of the article. The author bears full responsibility for the accuracy, reliability, and validity of all submitted statements.

USE OF AI BY REVIEWERS AND EDITORS

Reviewers may use AI only for ancillary technical tasks that do not involve analysis of the manuscript’s content (for example, language editing of their own review text). The use of AI to generate a review or any part of it is strictly prohibited.

Editors may request clarification or additional information from authors if there is reasonable suspicion of undeclared AI use.

REQUIREMENTS FOR CONTENT CREATED OR MODIFIED BY AI

If AI is used to create or edit text, images, tables, or any other elements, the author must:

  • indicate the name, version, and developer of the tool;
  • clearly specify the purpose of its use;
  • confirm the accuracy of the information and its compliance with scientific standards.

Materials containing falsified, fabricated, or methodologically unsound data will be rejected or retracted after publication.

COMPLIANCE WITH ACADEMIC INTEGRITY STANDARDS

All scholarly content must comply with:

Authors, reviewers, and editors are required to uphold copyright regulations and must not violate confidentiality.

SANCTIONS FOR VIOLATION OF THE POLICY

If the established requirements are breached, the editorial office reserves the right to:

  • refuse publication or retract the article;
  • notify the author’s institution or the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine;
  • restrict or fully suspend further submissions to the journal.
